If you’re like most people, you probably find yourself still worrying about “rollover resolutions” from last year that didn’t work out… But, don’t get stuck on old resolutions… Instead, focus on moving forward and making new habit changes that stick. Our Lean Machine 2019 program will help you to make easy and enjoyable nutrition choices, and will add layers of accountability to keep you on track with your goals. We want you
to own and show off your healthy lifestyle changes — ones that will truly lead you to the healthiest, happiest version of you!

How does it work?

Lean Machine 2019 is an 8-week nutrition and workout program designed to be easy to follow and friendly for all participants. It will begin on January 14th and will end on March 11th. Weekly structured meal plans are included, along with shopping lists and recipes. We will utilize the “MyFitnessPal” app to assist you in tracking your food, exercise and progress. There will be health education talks held on Wednesday evenings at Cypress Fitness, with a specific focus on the topic of “sugar” to help you learn as you go through the program. Lean Machine 2019 also offers individualized attention: Our program directors will work directly with you to answer questions, create suggestions, offer substitutions, provide motivation, and give encouragement that fosters a deep level of self-accountability.

Who can participate?

While our program is built in McLean, VA, there is no limitation to anyone who can participate. A Cypress Fitness membership is NOT required to participate, and you can follow and complete this program virtually from anywhere. If you can’t attend the Wednesday evening educational seminars in person, videos of the talks will be recorded and posted on Facebook. We believe
that this program holds no boundaries, so we invite anyone who’s interested to join!

What do I need to do?

Prioritize – Make a committed choice to make your health and your nutrition the #1 priority as you enter into 2019. Your daily life will be filled with choices and challenges, and those decisions will always reflect what your priorities are.

Follow the Plan – Our nutrition program is designed for anyone looking to find and maintain their perfect weight, as well as increase their energy levels. We will offer several substitutions to the meal plans as needed for each individual, depending on personal lifestyle preferences, as well as taking into account specific allergies and sensitivities.

Track your Progress – Using the free “MyFitnessPal” app will give you a handy journal to track your daily meals, and it’s user-friendly and easily accessible to you anywhere. Tracking your information will hold you accountable to behavior changes by giving you detailed snapshots of your daily intake. We encourage participants to use this app as often as possible, since we believe that data and information will be the key to helping you break through to a higher level of progress – and it only takes a few minutes a day to do!

Create an Accountability Network – There’s nothing better than having that individual who becomes your rock and support during a long journey. But imagine if you had 10, 100 or even 1,000 of them? We want you to use social media to create your own accountability network. Imagine posting a picture of salmon over rice, or posting a picture of some cheetos… Which would you feel better about eating after you share the picture with others? Or, what different decisions would you make over the weekend, knowing that you’d be posting the number on your scale every Monday morning?

Allowing yourself to be honest and vulnerable to all of your friends and family will help you to make better choices. And research shows that community support really does help you create new habits and reinforces those positive decisions. Our Lean Machine 2019 program directors will also be there to support you in front of everyone, too!

We’ll offer EXTRA help for those who want to go deeper!

Our Nutrition Coach, Liz Greenlaw, will be made available to help you individualize your program and gain momentum towards your goals. In addition to giving our talks on sugar, Liz will also offer private one-on-one sessions during the 8-week program to give you more individual attention. She can help further your success in a private setting by helping you diversify your meal planning, strategize on preparation, and answer your toughest personal questions. Liz will be available to meet in person, over the phone, or through Skype calls during your Lean Machine 2019 journey!
